"After we took over The Jesse, and after 15 years working in marketing in Turkey, I decided I wanted something small and low-stress that I could build alongside my baby. I was searching for mugs that felt as meaningful as the coffee itself — and since our restaurant and café reflect our roots in Istanbul and the Mediterranean, I wanted pieces that carried that same warmth and soul.
I've worked with ceramics in Turkey before, so I began sourcing handmade mugs from small artisans — each one unique, crafted by hand, and inspired by the Aegean, the coastal region shared by Turkey and Greece, which my name, Ege, comes from.
Guests loved them so much they kept asking to buy them, so we started importing a curated collection. They're not just mugs; they are small, beautiful pieces of our story that people can take home."
