Intro to Woodburning: Holiday Ornaments with K-dash-rae Creations | 12/02 | 6-8PM

Ever wondered what it would be like to burn designs straight onto wood with a hot pen?

In this beginner-friendly woodburning workshop, each participant can learn to do just that! With guidance from local Pyro Artist Kellie-Rae of K-dash-Rae Creations, you can create two unique hand-burned wood ornaments.

No skill is required, just some confidence! You will learn the basics of woodburning, from prep and safety to techniques and finishing touches.

Using pre-sanded basswood and birch rounds, participants will learn to transfer pre-drawn designs provided by the instructor, or you can try your hand at free-hand drawn designs straight onto the wood. Each ornament you make will last a lifetime and be a reminder that you created something unique and special with your own hands (and heat)! Work at your own pace, no pressure, just guidance and care for the craft and tools.

*Due to the nature of this craft, there will be some wood fumes/smoke. Desk fans will be utilized, and N95 masks will be provided by your instructor, but you are encouraged to bring your own dust mask, if you have one!

**Ages 16+ for safety reasons; we will be using hot pyrography pens.
