Join local creator Laura of Swandering Studios for a hands-on evening where we'll celebrate nature as we explore the basics of tapestry and fiber arts.
This hands-on weaving workshop introduces participants to contemporary tapestry techniques while incorporating natural elements such as dried flower stems, grasses, and organic fibers. Students will work on a small frame loom and learn how traditional yarns can be combined with found and natural materials to create layered, textural compositions. Emphasis is placed on experimentation, material awareness, and intuitive design rather than rigid patterns, allowing each piece to feel personal and organic.
Participants will leave with a completed woven artwork and a deeper understanding of how weaving can function as both a tactile craft and an expressive art form inspired by nature.
